Job Material Transactions
Use this activity to enter information about moving materials from the stockroom to a job on the shop floor. You must use this activity to manually move all inventory that is either lot or serial tracked.
When you enter job material transactions, the system posts them immediately. The item quantity on hand is reduced and the quantity and costs issued to the job are increased.
For by-product items, you must enter a negative quantity to move the item back into inventory.
You can reverse any transaction. If you enter a transaction incorrectly, enter another transaction to undo the first.
If the Warehouse, Location, or Lot fields change, the grid on the Pieces tab automatically refreshes to retrieve the corresponding records.
- You cannot issue inventory reserved for customer orders to jobs.
- You cannot add an item as a by-product item if it does not exist in a Job Bill of Material and you cannot cross reference a by-product.
- If the job is a rework order, you can issue a material to the job that is the same as the job's end item. You can also create a new material for the rework order that is the same as the end item. This recursive BOM structure is allowed only for rework orders.
- If the job is a rework order, you can issue recursive materials from a non-nettable location.
The Change Warehouse form is accessible from the menu.
