Master Production Schedule
You manually control the master production schedule by creating MPS receipts to satisfy demands that are due inside the MPS Plan Fence. To create MPS receipts for demands due later than the MPS Plan Fence, you can schedule the MPS Processor to run automatically on the Background Queue.
You can also use this form to release MPS receipts to production by firming them into jobs or production schedules.
To create a master production schedule for an item, you must first select the MPS Flag on the Items record for that item (if the MPS Flag is not selected, that item does not appear in the list of items on the Master Production Schedule form).
See Using a Master Production Schedule for information about how the MPS Processor works with MRP and APS.
The
menu includes the option , which displays a graphical representation of how the system uses supplies, on-hand inventory, and resource capacity to satisfy the demand at each level of the bill of material.
