Quantity Move
Use this form to enter transactions to move a quantity of goods from one location to another.
An inventory cost transaction is generated if the inventory account of the From Location/Lot differs from the account of the To Location/Lot. The originating stockroom location must exist for this item. The To Location may be created at the time of entering transactions. Unless the On Hand Neg check box in the Inventory Parameters form is selected, you cannot move more than is available in the From Location. If this check box is selected, a warning displays indicating that the on-hand amount will be negative.
Two material transactions with a type of Material are created by this move. One is for the move from the first location and one is for the move to the second location.
If the Warehouse, Location, or Lot fields change, the grid on the Pieces tab automatically refreshes to retrieve the corresponding records.
The Container Contents tab displays the container item, lot, serial numbers, and their quantities.
When moving inventory from an existing lot to a new lot in the same location using specific costing, the system assigns the unit cost from the From Lot to the unit cost of the new To Lot.
