IDO (intelligent data object)

A component that implements a set of methods and properties used by clients to perform such tasks as loading and updating collections or retrieving information about data. Related IDOs are typically grouped into an IDO project. Together with the IDO runtime service, IDOs are deployed as the middle tier of an application.
