About ATP/CTP Input Dates

This topic applies to APS.

Depending on the type of transaction it is processing, the system uses different input dates to calculate the transaction's Projected Date. The Projected Date is initially displayed on the Availability Results dialog after you click the Get ATP/CTP button.

After you accept or discard the calculated Projected Date, the system uses the input date to incrementally plan the transaction (if you accept the Projected Date, the original input date is replaced with the Projected Date).

Transaction Input Date Notes
Order Line Due Date The original Due Date (the due date on the transaction before you clicked the Get ATP/CTP button) is saved to the Request Date field for your reference.
Blanket Release Due Date The original Due Date is saved to the Request Date field for your reference.

Customer Order Due Date

Each line item is planned in a what-if planner database as a separate demand, each using its own Due Date. The latest calculated projected date from the order's line items is displayed on the Availability Results form. When you accept the Projected Date for the order, the date the system uses depends on the setting of the order's Ship Partial field:

  • Ship Partial selected: Each line item is incrementally planned in the production database using its own Due Date.
  • Ship Partial cleared: Each line item is incrementally planned in the production database using the latest >Due Date from all the order's line items.
Customer Order with Pull Up option enabled Request Date If the customer order is a Pull Up Order, the line items on the order are all planned using their Request Dates rather than their Due Dates.
Estimate Due Date See the note for customer orders, above.
Estimate Job Order End Date The projected end dates are based on the existing APS plan. As time passes, new demands, with higher priority than the estimate job, may make the projected end date unrealistic. Any customer promises made based on the projected end date should be promptly followed by the entry of a firm demand that will be accounted for in the next full APS planning run.
Job Order End Date The Get ATP/CTP process works only for Firm jobs.
