About the New Data Maintenance Wizard toolbar
The first page of the New Data Maintenance Wizard (NDMW) includes a toolbar with buttons to allow these actions:
Button name | Description / Comments |
---|---|
Open Template | To locate and
select the XML file that contains a template you want to use as the basis for a
new table/IDO/form, click this button.
When you select and open the XML template file, any NDMW settings contained within that template populate the appropriate NDMW fields. |
Save Template | To save the current table/IDO/form settings as a template for future use, click this button, and then use the Window Save File dialog box to save the settings to an XML file. |
Get Database Schema | To load and use
the schema of an existing database table as the basis for a new table/IDO/form,
click this button. Then use the
Get Database Table Schema dialog box to
select the database table from which you want to use the schema.
Note: This option clears the
Name/Property grid
in the NDMW before populating it with the new data.
|
Add Collection | To create a
subcollection for your table/IDO/form, click this button.
When this button is clicked, the NDMW adds two pages to the wizard process:
See Adding a subcollection in the New Data Maintenance Wizard. |
Add Row | To add a row to the grid for the columns/properties/components, click this button. |
Delete Row | To delete the currently selected row from the columns/properties/components grid, click this button. |
Delete All Rows | To delete all rows from the columns/properties/components grid and start over, click this button. |
Options | To add an IDO description, a form description, a form caption, and/or a specification to have the columns sorted alphabetically, click this button. |
