Handler Editing Options

The Handler Editing field on the Event System tab of the User Preferences window controls these options:

• The display of metadata in the Event Actions form for the Application Event System
• The behavior of the Event Handler Diagram form

You can specify one of these modes:

• Novice: In the Event Actions form, the metadata code display is hidden and the button is set to Show Details >>. In the Event Handler Diagram form, these options are set:
  • Allows you to rapidly drag action nodes onto the diagram, without automatically opening the Event Actions form
  • Hides any condition specifications
  • Hides the node's sequence number
  • Limits the display of hover tool tip text for each node to the basic event action description
• Expert: In the Event Actions form, the metadata code is displayed by default and the button is set to << Hide Details. In the Event Handler Diagram form, these options are set:

• Opens the Event Actions form whenever you drag an event action node onto the diagram
• Displays any condition specifications
• Displays the node's sequence number
• Displays both the basic event action description and any parameters associated with the event action in the hover tool tip text
