Scheduling a Process to Run in the Background

  1. In a utility or activity form, set your selection criteria and task options.
  2. If your selection criteria include dates and you are scheduling the process to run periodically, you must increment the date.
  3. From the Actions menu, select Background.
  4. In the Frequency field of the Background Queue form, select an interval to use as a time unit in scheduling.

If you select Weekly, for example, you can subsequently specify that the process runs every third week.

To run a process one time only, select Daily.

  5. Depending on the Frequency setting, use the appropriate tab to set times and dates based on the frequency.
    • Daily tab: To run the process one time only, you must specify Occurs > Once At.

To run the process at least once every day, you must specify Occurs > Every.

    • Weekly tab: Specify the number of weeks in the interval, the day of the week on which to start the process, and the time of day.
    • Monthly tab: To run the process on a specified date of each month, such as the 15th of each month, select Occurs > On Day.

To run the process on a specified day of the week, such as the first Tuesday of each month, select Occurs > On.
