Perform Additional Validation
Select the type of data entry validation for the system to perform when you enter invalid data for a job transaction:
- Never: The validations are never performed and no error messages display if you enter invalid data.
- Always: The validations are performed, error messages display when you enter invalid data, and the transactions are not saved in the database.
- Prompt: The validations are performed and error messages display if you enter invalid data. If you click OK on the error message, the system saves the transaction in the database. If you click , the system does not save the transaction.
These validation checks can prevent you from entering incorrect quantities on the following types of transaction forms, allowing you to correct the errors before posting the transactions:
- Unposted Job Transactions
- Job Receipt
- Job Receipt Error Processing
The validation checks can display the following error messages (values in brackets [ ] are sample values):
This table describes messages for unposted job transactions:
Message | Description |
---|---|
Completed is not equal to [25] for Job Transaction that has [Oper: 10]. | The operation is complete and the (transaction quantity completed) does not equal the (job quantity released) - (operation quantity already completed) - (total operation quantity scrapped) - (transaction quantity scrapped) |
Completed is greater than [25] for Job Transaction that has [Oper: 10]. | The operation is not complete and the (transaction quantity completed) is greater than the (job quantity released) - (operation quantity already completed) - (total operation quantity scrapped) - (transaction quantity scrapped) |
Completed is not equal to [25] for Job Transaction that has [Oper: 10]. | This is the last operation and the (transaction quantity completed) + (operation quantity already completed) is not equal to (job quantity released) - (total operation quantity Scrapped) - (transaction quantity scrapped) |
Complete? is equal to No for Job Transaction that has [Oper: 10]. | This is the last operation and the (transaction quantity completed) + (operation quantity already completed) equals (job quantity released) - (total operation quantity scrapped) - (transaction quantity scrapped) and an earlier operation is not complete. This message displays only if a prior operation is not complete and is marked as a control point. |
Qty Issued is not equal to [25] for Job Material that has [Item: FA-10000] and [Oper: 10]. | This message appears if a location is entered for the operation, and if, for each backflushed job material of each operation, the job material's quantity issued is not equal to its quantity required. |
Qty Issued is less than [25] for Job Material that has [Item: FA-10000] and [Oper: 10]. | This message appears if a location is entered for the operation, and if, for each NON-backflushed job material of each operation, the job material's quantity issued is less than its Qty required. |
Pending Posting shall Continue (backflushing that is lot and serial tracked) | The current transaction already includes the backflushing quantity. Therefore, if the pending transaction posts, the backflushing quantity for the current transaction will exceed what is needed. We recommend that you wait until the pending transaction is resolved. If it posts, refresh the record to display the reduced calculated quantity on the Backflush tab. If it returns an error, then the current transaction covered the needed backflush quanity, and the pending transaction should be deleted. If the current transaction’s pending material returns an error, correct the problem, then, before posting, delete the lower-quantity pending material record. |
Pending Posting shall Continue (backflushing that is not lot and serial tracked) | You do not need to wait for the posting process to resolve, becaue the current transaction backflush quantity is the only thing needed for the completed quantity. If the pending transaction returns an error, correct it, because it is likely that the current transaction’s pending material will also return an error. |
This table describes messages for job receipt and job receipt error processing:
