Reference Fields

The payment type reference fields are set up on the Payment Types tab of the POS Setup form and are displayed on the POS Payment form. These fields are optional based on your business practices.

In the Label field, specify the reference field label to display on the POS Payment form when this payment type is selected. If no label is specified, the fields are displayed as Ref [1] - Ref [4].

If a value must be entered in a reference field in order for the payment to be accepted, select Required.

In the Format field, specify how the information must be entered into the field(s).

For example, a credit card payment type, the reference field definitions could be set to a phone number or driver's license number:
