Displaying the Status of a Global Object
To check the status of an individual global object:
- In the Form Control form, select the Global Objects tab.
-
Optionally, in the
Actions group box, select
Check Out. This is
recommended.
Note: You can select other options in the Actions group box, but be aware that your choice can affect the list of objects that is displayed. For example, if you select Check Out, Form Control looks for it in the master database. If you select Check In, Form Control looks for it in the run-time database. To determine where Form Control is looking for the form, note that the location is designated by the Database on the Database object name field label.
- From the Selection criteria list, select the type of object for which you want to see the status.
-
From the
Database object name field, select the object you
want to view.
Note:
- The Database designation in this step changes according to what Actions option you have selected.
- The list of available objects changes according to the type you selected in the Selection criteria list.
Form Control displays this information about the selected object:
- Locked By User
- If anyone currently has the object checked out, this field displays the user ID for that individual. If this field is blank, the object is not checked out.
- SourceDatabase Value
- This field displays the current value of the object in the designated source database.
- TargetDatabase Value
- This field displays the value, if any, that the object has in the designated target database.
