Example: Multi-Site Transfer Order Lot Tracking at Both Sites

If the From Site is the FOB Site:

  • The lot resides within the Transit Location of the To Site. At the time the lot is received, it is moved from the Transit Location to a Stock Location within the To Site.
  • If the lot number does not exist at the To Site, then a lot with the same number is created at the To Site and the in-transit quantity is stored at the To Site.
  • If the lot number already exists at the To Site, then the Lot is not created at the To Site; it is just placed in the appropriate location. The assumption is that the same lot is being received again. The form displays the lot number in the From Lot field and in the To Lot field, and you will not be able to update these fields.
  • The matltrack record created is Ref Type = T and Track Type = I. It is created in the From Site's database and no matltrack records are created in the To Site's database.

If the To Site is the FOB Site, the lot resides within the Transit Location of the From Site. At the time the lot is received, it is moved from the Transit Location to a Stock Location within the To Site.
